About

Hey, I’m Rafit. I’m currently a Senior Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI. During my career I've worked at Google, Meta, Amazon, and Salesforce, shipping world-scale AI and distributed systems, and progressing to the Senior level in under 2.5 years.

I specialize in operating in high-ambiguity settings and turning complex, open-ended problems into shipped systems at scale. My work has spanned agentic AI systems, machine learning platforms, and foundational infrastructure across both enterprise and large product surfaces.

I’ve mentored dozens of engineers at different stages, from students and early-career engineers to senior ICs. I work best with people who are ambitious, self-directed, and optimizing for long-term trajectory. Common goals include breaking into top-tier companies, accelerating promotions, transitioning into AI-focused roles, and developing senior-level judgment earlier in their careers.

My mentorship is direct, practical, and outcome-oriented. I focus on how strong engineers actually think, make decisions, and get promoted inside elite organizations, not generic advice or interview trivia.

We are in a rare moment where AI is reshaping engineering careers rapidly. Small decisions compound quickly. If you want candid guidance from someone who has navigated this path deliberately and at speed, I’m happy to work with you.
