I was initially trained as an Aerospace engineer (B. Tech, IIT Bombay; Masters, MIT) and worked in the Aerospace industry before shifting gears a bit to get a Ph.D. with a focus on Neuroscience, Biomedical, and Astronaut Health from Houston, where I also got opportunities to do lab rotations at NASA JSC. After my Ph.D., I completed two post-doctoral trainings, one from the Baylor College of Medicine and then from the Stanford School of Medicine.
After that, I was a senior research Associate at NASA Ames and then spent some time as a senior research scientist at a health tech startup (all.health, formerly Jawbone Health) in the Bay area.
Over the past few years, I have mentored numerous graduate students and junior engineers and scientists in my different roles on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to experimental design, academic writing, research and development, scientific writing (journal papers, etc.), signal processing, grant writing, statistics, and immigration (EB1A, EB1B green card applications, etc.).
