Hi, I'm Shreya.

I grew up in a small town in India and somehow found my way into the UK tech industry through a combination of curiosity, persistence, and an unhealthy tendency to disappear into rabbit holes while learning something new. Today, I'm a software engineer in fintech, building products and systems that serve millions of customers.

You might be here because you're trying to become a better engineer, prepare for interviews, navigate a career move, or simply figure out what's next. I've spent a good part of my own career doing exactly that. I don't have all the answers, but I've learned a few things the hard way and I'm happy to help you avoid some of those lessons.

Outside of engineering, I'm fascinated by communication, rhetoric, learning, and how people think. I write two publications. The Rhetorician explores rhetoric and persuasive communication. The Longer Thought grew out of a simple observation: we live in a world optimized for hot takes and fast reactions. It's my place to slow down and think more carefully about ordinary things, second-order effects, hidden systems, and the consequences we often miss.

I'm also an active Toastmaster, which means I willingly stand in front of a room full of people and give speeches. Repeatedly. By choice.

If we work together, we'll probably talk about more than just code. Of course, I'm happy to help with software engineering, interviews, career growth, and technical challenges. But some of the most important career lessons I've learned have had nothing to do with programming. They've been about communication, judgment, confidence, influence, and learning how to think clearly when things get messy.

My goal isn't to tell you exactly what to do. It's to help you think through problems, see blind spots, make better decisions, and build the skills to keep growing long after our conversations end.

And if you're the kind of person who enjoys asking "but why?" one more time than everyone else in the room, I suspect we'll get along just fine.
