I have spent the last 11 years improving recommendation systems, and in the last 5 years I have built inclusive and collaborative applied machine learning teams, and have grown diverse technical leaders who can take smart bets and inspire others to do the same. During that time, I led teams to overcome long-standing challenges in areas where previous efforts have stalled, and to revitalize stagnant products such as turning around a YoY decline in a major product to 30% YoY growth instead. In addition, we were able to do so while achieving cost savings of multiple tens of millions dollars annually.
I have grown many engineers from L3 to L7 (Senior Staff or Principle), including manager transitions.
