I have been working in the tech industry for 7+ years and I had great opportunities to find out exactly what I wanted to do. I realised I would do my best work in a management position and set my sights on getting into the role as quickly as possible. I managed to get into the role within 5 years of my career, 3 years after making the decision to begin pursuing it. I won't discount the fact that I was surrounded by smart people and had the opportunities at the right time that enabled me to do it, which is equally important. Hopefully we can work together to figure out what paths lie ahead for you!
