Hey there! I'm Aly, a Canadian-based entrepreneur, investor and advisor who has spent over a decade building, investing and advising companies. I've had the opportunity to build both bootstrapped and venture-backed companies, learning a ton along the way!

Throughout my journey, helping people grow has been the most rewarding aspect of my career, and I'd like to extend my experience to a broader audience. If we have the chance to meet, I promise to do my best to provide you with incredible impact and dedication to your success.

A bit about my journey...

While I started as a kinesiology and psychology major, I quickly realized that the clinical world wasn't my calling. Nonetheless, my desire to help people led me to a career in banking, on both retail innovation teams at a top-3 Canadian bank. During my tenure in banking, I co-founded a not-for-profit tech accelerator, a first of its kind at the time, blended social impact, private/public capital, and startup programming to reinvent libraries as innovation hubs in local communities.

After seven years in banking, I left to join a startup as the first employee. We built a D2C insurance marketplace, which was acquired early in our journey. I then helped grow the company who acquired us to $100M+ in revenues before departing in 2016 to launch Finaeo, a venture-backed next-generation digital ecosystem for the life insurance industry. I've served as its CEO for the past seven years. My journey has been unique, operating through COVID, expanding a business across borders, raising capital, hiring/firing, and much more.

Now, I'm a full time investor and advisor, helping others!

Apart from business, I'm a proud father of two (a girl and a boy), an avid basketball player/coach, and a sneakerhead. You can often find me playing chess in the park while sporting my favourite Jordans, of course!
