About this Session
An introductory call is a simple way to get to know a mentor before committing to ongoing mentorship. This session gives you the chance to ask questions, talk through your goals, and see whether the mentor’s background, communication style, and approach feel like the right fit for you. It is a low-pressure starting point designed to help you make a more confident decision.
You can use the call to share what you are working on, what kind of support you are looking for, and where you feel stuck right now. It is also a chance to understand how the mentor typically works with mentees, what kind of guidance they can offer, and whether there is a strong mutual fit. The goal is to leave the conversation with more clarity on your next step and whether you want to continue working together.
Your mentor
I am a Software Engineer at Microsoft CoreAI working on large scale distributed systems, production infrastructure, and AI related platforms where scalability, reliability, and long term architectural decisions are critical. I have more than eight years of industry experience across several major technology companies, with a background that includes backend engineering, distributed systems, data pipelines, microservices, and applied AI infrastructure.
I started programming at fifteen through a nontraditional hands on path, which strongly shaped how I approach engineering careers and mentorship. I later completed an MSc in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at UCL, combining academic AI work with practical system building.
In mentoring sessions I focus on practical guidance based on real industry experience. This includes career direction, technical growth, system design thinking, interview preparation, and navigating the software industry. I especially enjoy helping engineers who come from unconventional or less typical backgrounds.
