About this Session

If you're looking for a mentor, and you're just not sure about how this all works – this one is for you. In a casual, informal introductory call, a mentor will introduce themselves, show you around the platform, explain how our mentorships work, and explain how they would set up a mentorship with you.

This session is perfect if you're looking for a long-term mentor, but you're just not sure how this can work – or if you already set eyes on a specific mentor, and want to get to know them beforehand.

I also have ~4 years of (professional + research) experience in Data Science and have been mentoring dozens of students for the past two years (online and offline). I have also published three research papers on the subject (NLP, ML & DL).

I feel I am qualified for this position because of my dedication to the industry and my record of high achievement. I am a goal-setter and a self-made Data Scientist so, I know what you will need to kickstart your career in this field. He's a really great guy, has prepare a lot for his guidance, has a lot of experience in the field and also good at explaining and transferring these guidance to someone else. Because of the fact that he's Indian, his accent may be a bit weird to people, but when you get used to it, it should be fine. He had experienced the same problem with everyone in ML/DL/NLP, so he's more than capable to help anyone who just getting started. And because he has experienced working for companies, he can also help you with more advanced concepts. Overall, I'm satisfied by the knowledge he gives and I would recommend everyone to get mentored by him.

This was not working out for me. Shaksham tried, but I don't think he understood what I exactly needed and perhaps his teaching style is not compatible. I decided to cancel rather than try to have more meetings with him to get him to learn about me.
