Having a good portfolio on hand is key for any designer in the job market. Even if you're not looking for a new position right now, having an impressive portfolio that presenty your experience to future potential employers is always good to have.
In this session, a mentor with design and hiring experience will go over your portfolio and give you actionable points on how to improve it. You will be able to follow along and make these changes right away, hopefully leaving you with a top-notch portfolio at the end of the sessions.
Hi there! I’m a Designer with a passion for creating compelling user-focused experiences and storytelling. Currently at Microsoft Vancouver, I have 10+ years of experience designing digital products that are used by millions worldwide. I work with a talented team at Microsoft Teams as a UX designer. Through the span of my career, I have overseen the design of core features in large-scale products such as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Office Lens. I frequently mentor designers, run workshops and brownbags, and research initiatives that deliver results. Through mentoring, I share my design experiences in my career, and provide guidance on portfolio and resume reviews.
In this session, I will provide actionable feedback on your portfolio that you can implement right away (either during or after the session). I will assess areas including creativity, the included work, presentation, and design, according to the industry's best practices.
