About this Session

Looking to learn a new skill? The vast amount of resources on any topic on the internet can feel overwhelming at times. A mentor can give you an overview of worthwhile content, and work with you to create a study plan.

For this session, it is a good idea to know what you're looking to study, how deep you want to go, and when you want to reach that goal. Based on that, a mentor will come up with a detailed study plan.

As a self-taught programmer who has worked his way up to the level of a lead software engineer, I have learned some really effective ways of learning. I have also authored a number of online courses and have written some reference books related to software development. I can asses your needs and design a bespoke study plan that will be tailored specifically for you.

I specialize in Microsoft software development stack, which includes .NET, C#, SQL Server, etc. My main area of expertise is development of distributed web application. However, I also have experience in developing desktop and mobile applications.

I am usually available either between 12:00 and 14:00 or after 18:00 London time.

Apart from being an expert, Fiodar is a very pleasant person to work with and someone who sees the larger picture, which is extremely important and helpful when you're not 100% sure what kind of mentorship you need. After an initial video call and a couple of messages, he already created a learning path outline which absolutely meets all the requirements I defined and most importantly some which I wasn't aware of. A fantastic mentor!
