Hi, I’m Francesco Faggiano, a senior operations and engineering leader with over 8 years at Amazon, where I’ve led large-scale, high-impact projects across EMEA and APAC. From managing a $500MM UK capacity expansion to overseeing a $50MM/year innovation portfolio, I’ve had the privilege of working on initiatives that shape the future of global logistics and technology.

But what I’m most proud of isn’t the budgets or the scale—it’s the people. Over the years, I’ve mentored and promoted more than 15 professionals, helping them grow into confident, effective leaders. That’s what drives me.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Mentor?

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredible mentors who challenged me, believed in me, and helped me navigate pivotal moments. Mentorship has been a cornerstone of my growth, and I’m passionate about paying that forward.

I believe leadership isn’t just about delivering results—it’s about lifting others as you climb. Whether you're preparing for your next promotion, navigating a career pivot, or looking to sharpen your leadership and problem-solving skills, I’m here to help you build a clear, actionable plan to get there.

How Did You Get Your Career Start?

My journey into Amazon Operations started entirely by chance. I was a fresh aerospace engineering graduate—curious, ambitious, and completely unsure of what I wanted to do. I didn’t have a grand plan; I just knew I wanted to learn, grow, and be challenged. That’s when I landed a role as an Area Manager at Amazon, running shifts on the warehouse floor.

It was intense, fast-paced, and unlike anything I’d studied. But I quickly discovered that I loved solving real-world problems, leading people, and making things work better. Over time, I moved up—first into operations leadership, then into senior roles where I was leading teams of over 1,200 people through peak seasons and complex transformations.

It wasn’t always smooth. There were plenty of challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt. But I was lucky to have leaders who believed in me, pushed me, and showed me what great leadership looks like. I learned that success isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about empowering others, creating clarity, and building trust.

What Do Mentees Come to Me For?

My mentorship journey began when I led a university program supporting female talent in tech—an experience that reinforced my passion for DEI and the impact of early guidance. Since then, I’ve continued mentoring 2–3 professionals each quarter at Amazon, focusing on leadership development, promotion readiness, and navigating complex challenges.

Most of my mentees are early to mid-career professionals looking to:

  • Accelerate their growth
  • Build leadership confidence
  • Navigate organizational complexity
  • Prepare for promotions or interviews
  • Strengthen strategic thinking

I offer structured, personalized mentorship grounded in clarity, accountability, and real-world application. Together, we turn ambition into action and potential into progress.

What’s Been Your Favourite Mentorship Success Story So Far?

For me, the biggest success in mentorship isn’t just a promotion or a job offer—it’s building a relationship where I can see real, lasting growth over time. One story that stands out is the female mentorship program I led in partnership with Politecnico di Milano. I worked closely with five incredibly talented students, helping them explore career paths, build confidence, and prepare for life after graduation.

By the end of the program, three of them chose Amazon as their company of choice—and all three were hired. Today, they’re thriving in their roles, building impressive careers and already mentoring others. Watching that full-circle moment unfold has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey as a mentor.

But what I’m most proud of isn’t the budgets or the scale—it’s the people. Over the years, I’ve mentored and promoted more than 15 professionals, helping them grow into confident, effective leaders. That’s what drives me.
