About me
Hello there! My name is Udara and I'm a full-stack staff engineer with over 10 years of technical experience. Currently, I’m working as a Software Engineer at Block. Previously, I worked at Wealthsimple, Mozilla, and EventMobi. When I’m not working or mentoring, you can find me playing video games, table tennis, reading, and writing.
My Journey
I didn’t start off with a clear path. During university, I had a low GPA, no internships, and little direction. Luckily I had several side projects, which eventually landed me an internship and led me to drop out of university to work full-time in tech.
At my first job, I struggled. I lacked communication skills, didn’t know how to run a good 1-on-1 with my manager, and focused only on coding. Over time, through conversations with senior engineers and mentors, I figured out how to grow strategically
Since then, I’ve:

- Contributed to hiring across multiple companies

- Started mentoring engineers across the industry
