About

Hey there! I'm Aaron, I've been working professionally in software for 13 years. I have a BS and MS in Computer Science, along with another MS in Analytics. I specialize in full-stack and frontend software development, in developing software talent at scale, and in Agile development processes.

I've worked at a variety of companies in interesting fields -- I worked on financial risk analysis with fractal algorithms, on Google Maps, at Walmart Labs, and as Engineer #2 at a biotech startup that had a successful IPO. Most recently, I've been in the autonomous vehicles space, working on the ML systems that drive our robotaxi solution.

As opposed to many of the mentors here, my career path is effectively straight down the individual contributor path. There are better mentors if you're interested in management; I can help you become a great IC with a robust skillset that companies will be clamoring for. I, and several of my former mentees, have achieved offers of over $600k/year!

I can help you develop yourself, learn how to lead your team successfully and establish best practices, or help you pass the interview at your dream job. I've been there, and once you know what you're doing, it's surprisingly easy to get any job or position that you might want!

My approach is primarily hands-on and iterative; we will work on real code together. I believe that the best way to learn is by doing, and that the optimal way to discover truths is via tight and accurate feedback loops. You'll soon be able to take this system on your own and we'll be able to move on to more interesting problems: how do I drive innovation and impact? How do I prove that I'm at the next level? My goal is to "graduate" you out of needing me as quickly as possible, so that you can start mentoring people of your own!

Session: Interview Preparation

5 out of 5 stars

Aaron was immensely helpful in getting my practical UI, leetcode, and system design interview modules in great shape. Landed a job I'm thrilled with, higher TC and leveling than my last, and saying something in this market. Great experience all around.
