A former boss once described me as her "Swiss-Army Knife", a description I've taken to heart. My education and career have taken me far and wide: Before becoming a software engineer in 2015, I spent 13 years as a bioinformatics analyst working on the Human Genome Project, Human Microbiome Project, and several smaller genomic sequencing initiatives. I also spent several years pursuing a fiction writing career that led me to my software engineering career (ask me how).
The combination of psychology and counseling education, a previous career in a scientific and analytical discipline, and my current career as a software and data engineer makes me who I am today: a empathetic staff data engineer with a software engineering mindset.
