I'm a self-taught Developer with experience at large B2C companies like Deliveroo and Memrise. I have a track record of helping people get their first jobs in Tech as well as upskilling Developers to get significant pay increases.
I'm very proud of the work I've done with my mentees, check out the reviews to see my mentoring style. I'm generous with my time, calls typically last 60 minutes each and during the first week trial I include a free introductory call.
In addition, my first career was Tech recruitment where I personally face-to-face interviewed 100s of developers, designers and product managers. Therefore, I can not only coach you technically, but also help with career pathing and all the soft skills necessary to be successful in our field.
Finally, one of my strongest technical areas is Testing. I've found that most Front End Devs are relatively weak in this area. If you are looking to improve in this area in particular, then you're in the right place.

Dan is a rare human, and if you are debating on choosing him or not, choose him. He is straight forward in assessing both your skills and providing honest feedback that, quite frankly, most of us lack for growth. Over the course of a year, Dan helped me work through various dimensions of my budding swe career including technical upskilling (frontend), project based learning, and my own ongoing debate of climbing the ladder vs being an entrepreneur. I admire him for his own drive in his career and he really does live out his own advice.

Job offer accepted - Thank you, Dan! Despite a tough job market, much of my success in landing interviews and securing a job is owed to Dan and his mentorship. Over 9 months, he's guided my transition from QA at Apple to modern frontend/fullstack development. Dan is more than a mentor; he's genuine and passionate about his field. He truly cares about his mentees' success, offering patient guidance, invaluable advice, and generously sharing his time. His no-nonsense, results-driven approach cuts through the noise. Dan didn't just teach me; he challenged me, pushing me out of my comfort zone and helping me improve in areas that were lacking. Through regular chats, paired programming sessions, and code reviews, we tackled a range of projects, from mock interviews to fully-fledged production applications. But perhaps most importantly; Dan's support and encouragement have been a constant motivation. In moments of self-doubt, he was there to boost my confidence and overcome imposter syndrome. Dan has been an amazing mentor in helping me become a better programmer. The knowledge he has provided me with has been invaluable; our calls and code reviews have expanded my knowledge and revealed areas I didn't realise I needed to improve on. As an outsider of the technology industry there were many things I didn't know that I was unaware of. However, through the code reviews and Dan guiding me through what to focus on, I was able to bridge that gap. Through the various challenges set and code reviews I believe I have become a much more well-rounded developer. Also, Dan's background in recruitment was a huge asset when applying for jobs. He helped me with how to prepare properly and to not forget about the small details in order to standout more. I recently received an offer from a relatively big technology company and I don't think I would have gotten this far if it wasn't for Dan making me a better programmer and problem-solver.
