Hey there, I'm Francesco 👊
I'm currently a Machine Learning Engineer in the Search Quality team within Google Search, where I work on improving the ranking algorithm of Search. My daily job sits at the intersection of Software Engineering and Machine Learning, spanning everything from extracting data to building models and testing them live to gather statistics. I work mostly with C++, Python, TensorFlow and big data tools like Flume/MapReduce.
Before that, I worked for two years as a Machine Learning Engineer and partially Team Lead for AWS in an external facing role. I was building MLOps pipelines and productionising ML models at scale on AWS for customers like Ferrari, Novartis, Formula 1, Credit Suisse and more.
Those two years helped me master AWS and other open-source technologies inside-out. After being promoted I also got the chance to build valuable leadership and project management skills working with other teammates and customers.
I also have some R&D experience in Reinforcement Learning at King, the company who develops Candy Crush. There, I researched novel ways to design reward functions for a RL agent used to play-test new levels of Candy Crush before releasing them to the public.
I have been a mentor to other male and female tech students for three years now, and I thoroughly enjoy helping to shape other people's careers, even just by answering those simple questions that I also had when I was in your position. Feel free to reach out for any questions! 💪
