Raghavan Lakshmana

I’m Raghavan Lakshmana, and I’m thrilled to connect with you. I’ve spent over a decade in the software engineering world, specializing in building large-scale, AI-driven applications that not only solve complex problems but also enhance user experiences in meaningful ways.

I currently work at Atlassian, where I lead initiatives like the Confluence Databases project, which grew to over 100K monthly active users in just 90 days. Before that, I was at Airtable, where I led the development of the Two-Way Sync feature, a patent-pending distributed storage system which boosted average user revenue by 125%. I’ve also had the opportunity to spearhead projects at Airbnb, transforming their architecture and launching programs that improved both cash flow health and conversion rates. Earlier in my career, I worked on some exciting projects at Microsoft, including the speech recognition SDK for HoloLens and the Bing Business Bots.

I believe in the power of AI and software to drive positive change, whether it’s making data more accessible or improving productivity for teams. I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned along the way, whether through open-source contributions, writing, or mentoring aspiring developers. I also have a deep interest in the ethical implications of AI, which is something I’ve explored in my recent publications.

Outside of work, I love diving into new tech, contributing to open-source projects, and engaging with the developer community. My goal is to not only build great software but to inspire others to do the same by sharing knowledge and creating a positive impact.
