Hi everyone! I’m a Data Science and Cybersecurity professional who's been mentoring learners of all levels for over eight (8) years now. For most of this time, I’ve done mentoring professionally through an educational company in the US called Thinkful, geared toward learners of technical disciplines.
These days I work as a data science consultant at GLG and as an educator. As a result, I have plenty of availability for other tasks, such as mentoring. I'm in the Central European time zone (+1 hour from GMT and +6 hours from Eastern Time), and I have a flexible schedule.
When it comes to mentoring, my focus has been Data Science and Data Analytics, though I've also delved into Python programming. On top of that, I’ve authored a couple of books on Julia, so I'm equipped to mentor people in that area too. Other books I've authored are on data science and A.I. topics, while I’ve also developed a couple of hands-on mini-courses on Privacy, particularly the kind related to data science work. Beyond that, I've also written several articles on various blogs, helping educate professionals in all of these fields.
Most of the students I've mentored were taking some courses at the time on data science, data analytics, or Python. Our sessions were mostly technical and often involved looking at projects they had completed, assignments, code drills, and presentations. The vast majority of these students finished their courses successfully and on time. Some of them even found a job within a month after we finished our mentoring sessions. All of the students so far have enjoyed working with me and learned more than just the technical aspects of their craft (e.g., the business dimension and how they could apply creativity in their data-related work). So, if you want to sample the benefits of mentoring, like these former mentees of mine, feel free to contact me. Cheers!
