Comparing where I was the day I reached out to Roemer for mentorship to where I am today, feels surreal. When I reached out to him I was in a very tough position with serious doubts about my ability as a programmer. I wanted to dedicate the first session with him to assess whether or not I shall do something else with my life. But with Roemer's mentorship I managed to no only to steer things around, but also achieve great things. After doing some exploration on what motivates me as a programmer, we set the ambitious goal of landing a new job within six months. And not just any job, a job where I could thrive. I have recently accepted a great offer for a new job, after getting the highest possible score in my new employers application tracking system. My passion for programming has been restored. The goal was achieved in almost half the time. Roemer has vast amounts of interesting experiences from his career to draw from, which makes his guidance and mentorship inspiring yet concrete. His communication skills are out of this world. Observing how he seeks clarity, uncovers context and simplifies problems has been an incredible learning experience for me, which not only made me mature as an engineer, but also as a person. I count myself very lucky to have been mentored by him, and I can’t recommend him enough.
