Portfolio Feedback with Shelby

Thanks to Shelby's guidance and feedback, I landed my first job as a product designer. She is a great mentor, not only in the technical/practical stuff but also a supporter in all the mental-emotional aspects that involve job search and developing as a designer.

Shelby is one of the best mentors ever! She cares a lot about the project quality, my learnings, and my progress. One thing I like a lot about her mentoring style is that she's willing to do demos for you so you learn what exactly happens in real workplaces. While learning a ton from her, I also received heart-warming encouragement when I have self-doubt. She is such a phenomenal mentor that I want to recommend her to everyone who wants to learn UX and product design.

This review is long overdue but I can't recommend Shelby enough! I decided to do my own UX bootcamp and needed to work with a mentor to give me feedback on my work. I had weekly meetings with Shelby for a few months while I go through the bootcamp and every week Shelby provided very clear and useful guidance on my designs and we also practiced interviews and many other things. She is very knowledgable about UX design especially the design systems and accessibility and super helpful in job hunting tips and tricks as well. Overall great experience and I recommend anybody (especially women) to work with her!!

Shelby brought amazing energy and insights to our mentorship sessions! Her energetic, encouraging approach and depth of design/industry expertise made a lasting impact despite our time together being cut short by my increased workload.
