With 18+ years of experience in the industry, I have worked as a tester, a lead/manager, and as a developer. I have worked on large teams (OneDrive, Power Automate), as well as taking a v1 product from inception to running at a global scale. Delivering interviews, designing systems to work at scale, providing technical guidance, project planning, mentoring engineers, writing code (or these days, telling Claude to write code) are a few of the things I do regularly.
Whether you are a new grad looking for advice on how/where to start, or a seasoned engineer looking to break through to the next level, I would love to listen, help you grow, and further your career and life aspirations! I highly recommend Manson as a technical interview mentor. His organization and communication system is exceptional. He uses OneNote to maintain thorough notes and write-ups that make it easy to track progress and review concepts between sessions. Manson also clearly offers top notch system design guidance. He’s able to quickly discuss topics at a depth I haven’t found anywhere else, and I’ve browsed far and wide (Clean Architecture, Designing Data-Intensive Applications, Software Architecture: The Hard Parts, etc.). He goes beyond surface level explanations to help you truly understand architectural trade offs and design principles. Manson is also friendly and extremely easy to talk to. He’s direct and honest about what works and what doesn’t in the job search process, but he delivers feedback constructively without being harsh. This straightforward communication style means you get actionable guidance without wasting time. You’ll get the most value if you take initiative and know what you want to work on. Come prepared with specific goals, and Manson will help you get there efficiently. I received the best resume advice I’ve ever gotten from him, which has already improved my application response rate! If you’re looking for a mentor who combines deep technical knowledge with practical job search guidance and excellent communication, Manson is an outstanding choice.
