About

I’m a CTO-level engineering and product leader with 23+ years across Big Tech (Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Booking.com, Deliveroo) and startups.

People work with me when they’re tired of generic advice and want someone who can turn messy reality into a clear plan, then help them execute it. I operate at the intersection of product, engineering, and business. Call it “business magician” if you want. Practically: I help you find leverage, remove noise, make the right tradeoffs, and ship outcomes that move metrics.

What I’m unusually good at:
- Turning ambiguity into an executable strategy (product + tech + delivery)
- Ruthless prioritization and roadmaps that survive reality
- Executive communication: crisp narratives, decision memos, and alignment in 1-2 meetings
- Stakeholder alignment and unblocking politics without becoming political
- Negotiation and partnerships: win-win deals, clean incentives, no drama
- Scaling teams and systems: org design, hiring, delegation, reliability, and architecture tradeoffs
- AI and distributed systems when they add ROI (and calling out hype when they don’t)

What we can work on (based on your goal):
Career acceleration:
- Senior -> Staff/Principal, Manager -> Senior Manager/Director
- Role targeting, leveling expectations, positioning, narrative, and comp strategy
- Interview loops: system design, leadership, execution, and high-signal practice
- Portfolio and personal brand: what to show, how to frame it, and what to delete

Leadership execution:
- Your leadership operating system: priorities, cadence, delegation, accountability
- Influence without authority, conflict handling, and performance management
- Hiring and team building: raising the bar without creating chaos

Product and business strategy:
- “What are we building and why now”, positioning, metrics, and de-risking bets
- Roadmap tradeoffs, sequencing, and kill criteria
- GTM and pricing basics when relevant, plus partnership plays

Engineering excellence:
- Scaling, performance, reliability, incident culture, and pragmatic architecture decisions
- Translating technical risk into business language leaders will actually act on

What you get from sessions:
No vibes. No motivational fluff. We leave each session with tangible outputs: a decision, a plan, rewritten narratives, a de-risked interview strategy, a stakeholder map, or a product direction you can execute this week. Expect direct feedback, plus action items and accountability.

Who I’m a good fit for:
- Engineers aiming for Staff/Principal who want a real plan (not “just grind LeetCode”)
- New managers who need structure, confidence, and practical tools
- Staff+ leaders expanding scope, influence, and cross-functional impact
- Founders/CTOs who need product clarity, execution discipline, and leverage
- Engineers who want to scale up their career

If you want a mentor who can zoom out to strategy and zoom in to execution, book a call and tell me your goal, timeline, and what’s blocking you.

Sometimes mentees come with unrealistic expectations without the knowledge that a mentor is not a magician but merely someone who provides guidance from their own experience. I am leaving this public response for mentees in the future who are looking for a mentor (whether it's me or anyone else), here are some realities about what mentors can and can't do: - A mentor won't find you a job or get you to be accepted into a job, but a mentor can HELP you secure a job by helping you identify your gaps and helping you fill them - A mentor can't make you do anything or run after you to make sure you complete your tasks and action items. A mentor can work with you to make that list, maybe follow up on them with you and/or modify them based on different data. Executing them is your job - A mentor can't make decisions for you or choose your path in life or career for you. A mentor can help you uncover what pathes exist, what are the pros and cons of each path and provide you with the tools to reach that path - A mentor (or anyone for that regard) CAN NOT give you generalizations in the sense of "all/most senior engineers do X, so you need to do X as well" or "The biggest mistakes most people who want to become a senior do is Y". That's a fallacy and any person who have any sort of self-respect, won't get involved in this nonsense! - A mentor can't (and actually should not) build a tailored plan for your career after one or two sessions. That would basically be defrauding you and giving you a path that they have no clue whether it will work with you or not. Tailoring something for you takes time because the mentor needs to know you well enough to not only being able to tell what would and would not work for you, but also what you would even like to do or not! A mentor is more of a psychiatrist than most care to admit. You need a minimal level of openness and context building to come up with anything useful. You don't go to a psychiatrist and get fixed in the 2nd session!

My interview prep session with Mohamed Moshrif was extremely helpful. He guided me on how to approach interview questions confidently and shared valuable insights, particularly for system design interviews, which I had limited experience with.
