Hey, I’m Rafit. I’m currently a Senior Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI. During my career I've worked at Google, Meta, Amazon, Salesforce and many successful startups. I've shipped world-scale AI products and distributed systems, and progressed to the Senior level in 2 years.
I specialize in operating with high-autonomy, in high-ambiguity environments and turning complex, open-ended problems into shipped systems at scale. My work has spanned agentic AI systems, machine learning platforms, and foundational infrastructure across both enterprise and customer applications.
I’ve mentored many engineers at different levels, from students and early-career engineers to senior ICs. I work best with people who are ambitious, self-directed, and optimizing for long-term trajectory. Working with this mentor on MentorCruise has been an incredible experience. Rafit was exceptional! I did a resume editing session with him. Even with 12yrs of experience I had an excellent resume but he quickly pointed out several presentation issues and how to fix them. The session was only 30 mins but I got a ton of value from it. 100% recommended!
