Breadth of experience
I have been working in the graphic design and user experience fields for 20 years. I've worked for start-ups, interactive agencies (Razorfish Atlanta, Bamtech Media(Disney+)), Yahoo!, and currently The Home Depot. While I began my career in visual design and brand development, my path shifted towards UX and product design - much to my surprise.

Depth of experience
As a designer and then senior designer within a quickly developing industry, I have learned how to lead the design efforts for my projects as both a solo and team player. Using industry best practices, user-centered design processes, and some of the best software tools available, I have helped my product teams to produce extremely effective experiences for our users and record-breaking revenues for our business.

How I like to work
I am a team-loving designer who highly values collaboration while also savoring a high level of independent working. I am inspired by my team's ideas and delight in contributing to an environment of perpetual ideation. The prospect of keeping the team's flames going has been a big part of my work satisfaction.

I have personally developed into a process-loving designer. The pace of our business, the complexity of projects and teams, and my tendency to be distracted by the next great idea have all helped to motivate me to develop processes that can sustain innovation, quality, and consistency during projects.

What kind of mentor am I?
Some of the most impactful mentoring I have received in my career has come from people who were not only insightful but friendly and open to my ideas. Folks who could pull from their own history to give me food for thought and who enjoyed discussing the possibilities of my ideas. This is at the heart of my mentoring philosophy. We don't grow without wisdom. The practitioners who have gone before us have so much to offer. A significant part of that offering is to provide a safe place to toss out ideas, wrestle with the roadblocks, and get the affirmation needed to press on.
