As a self-taught engineer myself, I know the struggle to develop both technical and soft skills. Throughout this journey, having a mentor was essential to set goals and learn with confidence.
In 2019, I started giving back to the community as a mentor. I have a candid mentoring style, which means you'll receive constant feedback on what's going well and where you can improve. In our chats, I will provide action points and resources for you to work right after the call.
As a mentor, I've helped people in different stages of their careers:
- Get a new job as a developer.
- Being promoted to Senior, Staff, or Manager.
- Level up technical skills.
- Improve communication and leadership skills.
- Adapt to remote mindset and async culture.
Regardless of your stage, I can help you with:
- Frontend foundations (HTML, A11Y, CSS, JS)
- React ecosystem - systems, state management, scalability, testing, etc
- Documentation skills
- Confidence in your communication skills
- Prepare for job interviews
- Productivity and career advice
- Defining a career plan and setting goals to grow and get promoted.
- Navigate the tech world as a woman or LGBTQ+ member.
Last but not least, a little bit about myself:
I'm a Staff II Frontend Engineer at Remote.com focused on the React ecosystem, mainly around design systems, headless system architecture, and accessibility, where I contribute to large codebases with +200 engineers. I was also a Team Manager for 2 years to level-up my management and people skills.
One of my superpowers is to fill the communication gap between product, design, and engineering teams. Ultimately, my goal is to help turn ideas into accessible experiences across the web world.

I worked with Sandrina to work through picking my next role after suffering from burnout. She helped me figure out what to prioritize, saving me from a role that would have been a poor fit, and is helping me start on the right foot. I am grateful for her insights and experience.

I could not be happier with the mentoring I received from Sandrina. From the very start, she was helpful, friendly, approachable, and had one clear goal for our work together: helping me to grow as a frontend engineer/developer. And that is exactly what happened. I learned a tremendous amount during the 6 months we worked together. It felt like the equivalent of 6-8 months of professional work experience ON TOP OF the work I was doing at my full time job. One year of professional growth in 6 months is completely worth the cost of mentoring! While Sandrina taught me many things directly, what was truly helpful were her code reviews. She was thorough, direct, and very clear in her suggestions, critiques, tips, and praise. If I disagreed with one of her critiques, Sandrina would patiently show me how what she was suggesting was better. It was clear to me from these code reviews that she truly had the experience and skill needed to be a great mentor. I cannot recommend Sandrina highly enough. Working on a project with her guidance, making mistakes, correcting them, and improving your code will produce long lasting dividends for your career.
