Andrey is a great mentor! I was going to assess my skills to tell a good story which is required for Amazon interviews. First of all, he clarified what is my exact goal and when I want to achieve it. Then he conducted a mock interview, which is especially valuable because he is an actual interviewer at Amazon. Then he provided an extensive feedback with actionable items. Part of the feedback was provided later the same day which demonstrates a high level of commitment from Andrey’s side. His feedback covered everything, both the presentation and the content, what’s exactly should be highlighted, what was missing and what were the unnecessary details. He clearly explained what are the expectations from the interviewer side, and how the decision on passing or failing the candidate is made. Also, he provided some additional materials to review, which have proven to be effective. This is a huge amount of work to be done on my side, and that’s exactly what I wanted to get from the session, the direction on how to most effectively use my preparation time. And we decided to schedule a follow-up session to check the progress and to refine my subsequent preparation steps.
