Hands-on support
Hi! I'm Miller, and I'm super excited to help you achieve whatever goals you've set for yourself. I'm a recently retired former director who spent over 20 years leading large, multidisciplinary engineering organizations. My entire career was at Microsoft, working predominantly in the gaming space, though I spent a few years focused on the cloud helping partners adopt Azure.
I've been using my experience and coaching to help others for years and I hope to do the same for you as well. I've had the pleasure of leading hundreds of extremely talented engineers across compilers, intense GPU performance optimizations, migrating cloud services, writing games, designing hardware, building platforms, and revolutionizing the gaming industry. I've interviewed thousands of engineers and hired nearly as many.
I've coached and mentored folks at all levels of the organization, from the interns, to the junior engineers, all the way through to managers of managers and directors. I've been technical advisors to CTOs and helped CEOs make informed decisions about technical details. I've tried to learn from everyone I've coached and mentored just as much as they've hopefully learned from me.
It was always a struggle to be coaching and mentoring more than a few people at a time during my career, but now that I'm retired, I'm excited to be able to give back and feel the joy of helping others grow. Feeling the impact of watching others grow was the entire reason I stayed in leadership once I took over a management role. With all my free time now, I'm looking forward to scaling my mentorship to whole new heights.
I help leaders grow faster, build clarity, and operate with confidence. My coaching blends practical experience with a focus on empathy, communication clarity, organizational health and sustainable execution systems.
In my (more abundant) free time, I try to run most days and am a very active gamer. I'm a published author (several game development books under my real name, even more fiction books under a pen name) who has more half started stories than I know what to do with. I'm pretty introverted, so I don't spend much time doing very many "social" things, but I've been trying to get out more here in Vegas. And now that I finally got myself a pool, I try to use that as much as I can.
